Introduction and the Importance of Fire Safety
Welcome to your TQUK regulated fire safety level 2 course which you can complete from home by completing this video online curses, an open response test and a Zoom meeting with our office. You will gain the full regulated TQUK qualification, the same as attending a face to face course. On this course to learn to be a fire warden or fire marshal. In this category, we first look at how the course works and a little about the training you will receive. Then we look at the law relating to fire safety, the fire regulatory reform order and fire and how you get hurt.
Causes, Prevention, Training and Alarms
In this section, we look at the fire triangle and how this is important to understand to prevent fire taking hold. You will learn about the sources of ignition, arson and how fires can be controlled with active and passive fire protection. Various sources of ignition are covered like aerosols and hot works. Then we cover fire prevention by good housekeeping and staff awareness with training. Finally, we look at the dangers of smoke, fire alarms and activating and the testing of fire alarms.
Emergency Equipment and Response Actions
it is an important addition to every building and a legal requirement to have effective and well-maintained fire equipment and emergency equipment. This section details the different things you need to think about having as a result of your fire risk assessment including fire hoses, evacuation, fire doors, smoke alarms and evacuation chairs. We also look at home smoke alarms, fireworks and fire blankets.
Using Fire Extinguishers
There are many different types of fire extinguishers and in this section, we look at the main types and how to use them safely. We start with the basic facts about a fire extinguisher and a basic overview of the types then we look and demonstrate in more detail the water fire extinguisher, foam extinguisher, CO2 and dry powder fire extinguishers.
Fire Warden and Fire Marshals
By completing this course you will be trained as a fire warden or fire marshall, Personnel records and this section looks in more detail of your role and responsibility. We look at the fire logbook, the cost to the business of poor fire planning and some basic first aid. We also look at the unique needs of one sector which is the social care sector and care hoe evacuation.
Risk Assessment and Hazards
Completing a fire risk assessment is a requirement of every business and in this section we look at this in more detail. There are also useful downloads in the student resources section to help you carry out your risk assessment.
Summary
This final section looks at how you take your test and get you completion certificate, evidenced-based learning statement and Certified CPD statement.
